My work is grounded in the belief that you are an expert on your own life, and that you have within you the capacity to move towards positive change.

I have a humanistic, person-centred foundation to my approach. This means that the way I work is grounded in the belief that you are an expert on your own life, and that you have within you the capacity to move towards positive change. In this approach the therapeutic relationship itself is at the heart of that movement towards growth. This means that I place emphasis on building a warm, non-judgemental, empathic and honest counselling relationship with you.

The Integrative element of my training means that though I have a person-centred backbone to my way of working, I can also draw on a range of approaches to suit your needs. We may look at early life and past experiences, and how they continue to impact you and your ways of being, or we may draw on creative and body focused approaches, mindfulness or breath work. I have a particular interest in how the younger parts of ourselves can show up in our lives, and how counselling can help these parts to be heard.

As an integrative counsellor, I like the way that I can be dynamic and flexible in my approach. For me, counselling is about sensitively responding to what you bring and working in a way that feels most helpful for you in your movement towards living life from your true and full self.
